I love the Fall

It is so beautiful outside. We have some gorgeous maple trees with bright yellow and orange leaves in our yard. Not to mention my all- time favorite, the "burning bush" I don't know its botanical name, but that's what the lay people call it. It is brilliant red. I am so thankful for our home and can't even begin to tell you how much happy we are in Franklin. The girls and I play outside, hang on the trees, ride bikes and scooter. We have a large garage in which to do messy crafts and play when it rains. I will post pictures soon.

We are gearing up for Halloween. The girls are excited about dressing up and of course, getting candy. Chris and I aren't too excited about this holiday, but we are doing our best to participate for the girls. We are going to a Fall Festival at our church, so I 'm excited to see what that is all about.

Alexa is so cute the way she says "pumpkin" It is so incredible how much she is speaking, and in sentences. For example: She said to Chris the other day, " Momma get cookies" meaning she wanted me to bring home cookies from the store. She also said, " Daddy, is that pizza?" No we don't feed our baby just junk food! My all time favorite is, " momma you ok?" When the girls hurt themselves I always say, "are you ok?" So now she does it to everyone else.

It is hard to believe Alexa will be two next week. My little baby is growing up. However, she doesn' have any interest quiting the "boob" (oh, can I say that?) Don't freak out everyone, I won't be nursing her when she's 10 (hee hee, got-ya) Although, I will be sad when she does stop, because that will mean that I'm no longer going to have babies-boo hoo. I am looking forward to the freedom of going to sleep without having to work (if you know what I mean).
Daniella is 5 now, she has grown so much this Summer and has matured quiet a bit and yet she is still in a little girl stage. She has an amazing sense of imagination and when she tells a story it has such depth and enthusiasm. Her eyes light up and she belly laughs- Ha Ha Ha, almost like a evil scientist. Speaking of scientists- does anyone watch "Phineas and Ferb" on Nick Jr. (TV) That show is so funny. It has adult humor in it to0, to keep the parents from loosing their mind. This is our all-time favorite thing to do together. Alexa screams "Perry" when it comes on. (Perry, is a platypus that is a secret agent) you have to watch it to understand.

Isabella is 6 1/2 and she has "literally" grown - she is so tall that we have had to buy all new winter clothes. She wears a 7 and her shoe size is 13 1/2. Boo Hoo, my babies are growing up. (That means I'm getting older- boo hoo.)

Ok, just for the record, no one talk about me turning 45 in December (The girls remind me daily and think its funny). I know its just a number- blah blah blah, "its how you feel and look", blah blah blah- I'M STILL TURNING 45! that's closer to 50 then 40's.
Ok, I'm over it now, let's move-on.com

The girls learn to rollerskate

Chris took the girls rollerskating for the first time last month. They had a blast!
I love to roller skate, but we think its not a good idea because I don't want to injury my hands or break and arm. That would be bad for my business as a chiropractor (don't you think). But it is equally as fun to watch them learn something new and to see the excitement in their eyes when they actually accomplish something new.

The girls have also started ballet, tap and jazz. It was a rough start for Isabella, but I think she is starting to enjoy it. They will have a recital in June, so look for footage of that in the future. Daniella is really a natural at dance. She has been able to choreograph her own dance moves since she was two. I see her doing something with dance or "FASHION" in her future. I will post some photo's soon of her creative ensembles.

Alexa wants to be a part of everything. She is trying to sing the opening song of the Hanna Montana show. She runs around the kitchen going up and down on her tippy-toes trying to make up some kind of dance. It really is adorable to watch her learn. She is a smart kid.

What's New in the Medina House

Chris just opened the new "Spanky's Driving Academy" in Franklin, TN. We are so excited about this new beginning. We have hopeful expectations that this site will be a success. He has been working very hard to get his name out in the community.

The Cantina Medina on the move

Hi everyone,

wow, another crazy few months, with little time to blog. So here's the update:

We are moving to Franklin, TN (30 miles North) on August 15h. We are so excited because this will cut my commute time considerably- on 15 min from my office vs 1 hour.

We are also excited (I guess a little nervous too) about homeschooling the girls this year. Daniella will be in kindergarden/pre-k again and Isabella will be in 1st grade (We can't do that much damage-right?) Anyway, we found some cute old wooden desks on Craigslist and we are going to paint them fun colors the girls choose. This will help motivate them (I hope) to want to learn at home.

Isabella is growing so quickly. She is very tall and solid muscle. She loves sports and singing Hannah Montana (kereoke). She is actually very good, she certainly can keep a tune.

She is 6 1/2 and hasn't lost a tooth yet, we thought her top tooth was loose but it looks like it changed its mind. We have been really trying to get the lower teeth to come loose by eating apples, celery and carrots but no luck.
Daniella is crazy cute. She dresses up in these really creative outfits and prances around like a princess. Everything is FASHION, FASHION, FASHION. I brought home some new black shoes and she said to me "mommy, I only wear pretty shoes" So I said, "these are pretty, look they have pink inside and a pink butterfly on the back." She studied them for a moment and said, "Oh wow, look it says Barbie inside the shoe" These shoes are amazing. Too funny.
Daniella wan'ts so much to be grown up (additude and all) but still is our little girl. She loves to be cuttled and snuggled. Always wanting to sit on your lap. She is naturally funny and comes up with some really funny sayings. Recently, I was trying to get her to eat zuccinni and she was crying (more like shouting and hand gestures of an Italian man), " I really want to eat the zuccinni mommy, but I just can't get myself to do it!!!!!"
I just adore her and I love the way she looks when she is sleeping.

Parties, Parties, and More Parties

The girls have been enjoying some really fun birthday parties from their classmates.

Isabella's friend Abby had a really grown-up tea party complete with china. The girls enjoyed dressing up and being served tea sandwiches and sweet treats.

Alexa was not too excited about being on the side-lines. She wants to do everything her big sisters do.

We went to a great Easter Egg hunt put on by a local church. We had a great time playing in the jumpers, bowling for fun and other assorted festival activities.

We also had a great time at a "Fancy Nancy" party where the girls go to choose a feather boa, costume jewelry, make a Spring hat with flowers. They even made a purse and jewels some DIVA sunglasses. They had their nails painted and enjoyed being served (once again). Grown-up tea sandwiches, bon bons, and fruit slushes out of a champagne glass. (when is it mommies turn?) Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the party, but needless to say Daniella was in her element. She was "working" the room. We had such a great time.

Happy Easter!

WOW, I new I was behind in posting, but February-Yeks! I've been a bit busy.

I think I lost my camera at an Easter Egg Hunt this weekend at the park, drats! Grace Park Church sponsored an amazing 11,000 egg hunt at Evans Park. It was great fun, with games, music, art and of course, lot's of Easter Eggs to find. I was really surprised as I stood in line behind the barricade of rope how anxious the girls were to start and how independent Isabella was in her search for the best eggs. I was a bit nervous as hundreds of kids raced around the park that I wouldn't be able to find Isabella when it was over. I held on to the baby and Daniella and raced around- not good chiropractic form. If anyone would have seen me bending over with the baby in my arms, they surely would have said "practice what you preach, Dr. Brenda" Sometimes a mom's got to do, what a mom's got to do-right? So hopefully I will find my camera with all the Easter photos and post them later. Oh, by the way, Daniella won a special price- a Glamour Day at Glitter Glam in Cool Springs (for those of you MN friends, it's like Libby Lou's at MOA). She was so excited to go and get her hair and make-up done- she received the perfect gift for her personality. Isabella on the other hand, said she would just watch.

Daniella had her tonsils out at the end of March. She had been suffering from enlarged tonsils and adenoids apparently. They became so big, that she was having a difficult time breathing at night. It was very stressful listening to her "try" to breath. The surgery went great! The doctors said her tonsils were "GInormous" - not enlarged, not big, but GI-normous. The day of the surgery I was filled with a lot of anxiety because she had never been to the doctors before, nor had she ever taken a medication. The nurses and doctors were shocked to hear that she had never taken anything before. They gave her "loopy juice" prior to taking her into surgery. It was supposed to make her "loopy" and not remember them putting her under the anesthesia. I asked if mommy could have a "grande" version of the special juice?

When we went home, Daniella asked for her Ice Cream that was promised to her for weeks prior to the surgery. It was all about the ice cream, however, we were told not to give her ice cream or any dairy for three days. WHAT? When she asked, I had to tell her that we bought her some Popsicles and that she could have the ice cream in a few days. Her response, "I'm so angry", you said I could have ice cream. I was angry too, why didn't they tell us that prior to the surgery and what has changed over the years- haven't you always heard about ice cream after getting your tonsils out? She ate lot's of Dora the Explorer chicken noodle soup, along with Princess, Fish and Star noodle soups. Did you now they have a chicken noodle soup for every theme practically- who knew? I certainly didn't. The next stage was the "bad breath" oooooooweeeeee, you are not kidding. They said when the tissues in the throat begin to scab over you will have some smelly breath. Oh no, I thought something died in there. I had to tell her teacher about it because she may have thought we hadn't brushed her teeth in a week. So now that's all over with and she is sleeping soundly and so are we.

The next challenge is a dentist appointment for Isabella. Her adult teeth are growing in behind her bottom front baby teeth. We have been working on eating foods that would loosen up the baby teeth so that she wouldn't have to have them pulled. This is going to be a tricky one, if she has to have them pulled. Momma needs to "BUCK-UP" I can't stand to see my babies scared, anybody got some good Tequila? So wish us luck on April 29th at 9:00am. Pray that I have the nerve to be her strength during this scary time.

Alexa is growing up so fast. I suppose because she has two big sisters to watch and emulate. She wants to do everything they do. She loves to swim in the bath tub-yes, swim. She is not afraid of the water at all and gets on her belly and kicks her legs. Water goes up her nose and in her mouth and she just laughs and continues to flood the bathroom. She is so adorable and has really bonded to Chris during the past few months. Their favorite pass-time, "napping". Mom always gets ripped off! (just kidding daddy). She is a feisty one- not taking any grief from her sisters- literally pushing them out of the way when they want to sit on my lap. She is going to be a take-charge women. She loves to listen to Barry Manalow. Yes, I said Barry Manalow, Chris has introduced the girls to the CD and they play it in the car constantly (ahhhhhhhhhhh). The Copa-cabana comes on they all sing and act it out. Daniella actually said to me one day on the way to school "mommy, when I grow up and have two kids. I am going to call them Lola and Rico) I know, laugh out loud if you want, I did. If you don't remember the words it goes like this " her name was Lola, she was a show girls. with yellow feathers in her hair and her dress goes down to there. His name is Rico, he wore a diamond....... Oh the memories (for those of you old enough) Too funny.

I know this is all interesting information, but there comes a time when the blog post just gets too long to read. So more on the subjects later.

Have a blessed day!
